What we collect

Account information (name, email, and sign-in method); your troubleshooting conversations, including the equipment details you provide; documents you upload to My Docs; subscription status; and basic technical logs needed to run the service. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see your full card number. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider and nothing else. Reviews you choose to submit are published with the display name you pick. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security and debugging and are then deleted. We also record how you found us: the campaign or site that brought you here, the referral code that referred you if you used one, and — only if you choose to answer it — your response to the one-question "how did you hear about us?" survey.

Photos you send are handled differently: they are transmitted to our machine-learning provider to produce your answer and are not stored by us — your conversation history records that a photo was sent, not the image itself.

How we use it

To provide and improve the service: answering your troubleshooting questions, remembering your equipment and documents, managing your trial and subscription (including one notice when your free trial ends), and sending the emails the service needs — confirming your address, resetting a password, receipts, renewal reminders, and replies to feedback you send us. We do not send marketing email. Troubleshooting conversations are stored and may be reviewed by FixMyPivot staff to improve answer quality and safety. We do not sell your data, and we do not show other companies' ads. We measure site usage with Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not collect personal identifiers. On the free reference pages, such as the error code pages, we also count page views ourselves: the page address and the date, and nothing about you. If you sign up from one of those pages, your account records which page you came from, as part of how you found us (see What we collect).

Who processes it

We use trusted providers to run the service: Supabase (database and authentication hosting), Anthropic (machine-learning processing of your questions and uploads), Stripe (payments), Vercel (app hosting), Resend (service emails), Cloudflare (domain and email routing), and Microsoft Outlook (the mailbox behind our support address). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. Your questions, equipment details, photos, and uploaded documents are sent to Anthropic to generate your answers; under Anthropic's commercial terms that data is not used to train its models and is retained only briefly for safety monitoring. All of our providers process data in the United States.

When we share data

Beyond the providers above, we share personal information only when the law requires it — for example to respond to a valid subpoena or court order — or when necessary to enforce our terms, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect someone's safety. If FixMyPivot is ever sold or merged, your data would transfer to the new owner under this same policy, and we would tell you.

Your documents

Files you upload to My Docs are private to your account. They are processed by our machine-learning system only to help troubleshoot your own equipment and are never shown to other customers.

Cookies

We use only the cookies required to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest with our hosting providers, access is limited to what running the service requires, and sign-in is protected by your password or your Google or Apple account. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. Deleting your account (Menu → Delete account) permanently removes your profile, uploaded documents, and troubleshooting history, and cancels any active subscription.

One exception: we keep a record that your email address has previously started a free trial. It is not linked to your conversations or documents, and it exists only so the one-per-person free trial cannot be restarted by deleting and recreating an account. We also keep ordinary payment records where required for tax and accounting, and anonymous usage statistics (such as how much computing a question used) that are detached from your account when it is deleted. Full detail is on the account deletion page.

Children

The service is for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if we learn that we have, we delete it.

Your rights

You can access your conversations and documents in the app, change your name or email under Menu → Account, delete your account yourself at any time, or contact us to ask questions about your data or to request a copy of it.

Changes and contact

This policy is effective as of the date shown above. We will note material changes on this page with a new date and, where they affect you significantly, by email. Questions about this policy or your data: support@fixmypivot.com; we respond within 30 days. FixMyPivot LLC, 3479 Tahoe Drive, Billings, MT 59102.
