E11 on the Valley Pro / Pro2

What it means on the Pro2

Resolver angle jumping around.

Most often the pivot swivel (the J pipe) is binding and needs grease, or the packing is too tight or seized. A pipe not fastened to its bracket or a loose collector ring can do it too. The collector ring is electrical and belongs to a dealer or an electrician. Less often the position signal itself is unstable, which is electrical and a job for a technician. Any work at the pivot point is done with power shut off and locked out.

Before you touch anything

Reading the display and looking the machine over with every door and cover closed is fine. Anything past that means power shut off and locked out at the main disconnect first, and electrical checks belong to a dealer, an electrician, or someone qualified to be in the panel.

What it means on the Pro

Resolver angle jumping around: lube the J pipe.

Logged when the swivel jumps 5 degrees or more in one second. This is a mechanical problem: the pivot swivel is sticking and needs grease, or the packing is too tight. Any work at the pivot point is done with power shut off and locked out.
